Not Your Typical Blog About Owls

Words cannot express the sensation of “Good New Music.”

Every once in a while I fall into these stagnant periods where I need something new to snap the chains of complacency. Being the Electronica/Party Rock junkie I am, I’m starting to fall into the Owl City kick. This is the first new music train I’ve hopped on since I gave Innerpartysystem a ride a few weeks back, which wasn’t as satisfying as I had hoped. Basically, the verdict is in, new music has arrived, and I feel liberated.

Since I’m talking about Owl City, I’m reminded of a childhood memory. So here’s a bonus blog for all the nature lovers!

Nearby Brentwood, TN is home to the fascinating owl sanctuary, Owl’s Hill. I remember my mom taking me to this amazing site back when I was in elementary school. If I recall correctly, it was actually a girl scout event, but I tagged along with my mom’s troop b/c I had a big heart for any bird that could turn its head all the way around and live to tell about it. The afternoon passed as I wandered around the sanctuary in search of the majestic Great Horned Owls. Absolute glee struck when I finally looked one right in its huge yellow eyes. This is a day I’ll never forget.

I’m hoping to go back to Owl’s Hill this fall when the leaves start to turn. If you’d like to come with, let me know.
